Paid Tools For MS Access Developers

In our apps, we use some preset tools, which allow us to easily implement some features, such as, configuring and assigning ribbons, set start up form and icon, login options, configuring dev access (as opposed to locking it for the users), creating .accde files, creating user and admin versions of the applications with different ribbons, etc.

These are things which apply to almost every application and which would take some time to implement. Using these tools saves us 5-10 hours per application. We thought you might find them useful as well.

$250 for unlimited Dev use

This app is the default app we start all our development with. It has most of the code we use often, forms, macros, and various tools to help with the often used options. It saves us a ton of time and effort.

This app does the following:

  • Allows you to configure ribbons with multiple tabs. The buttons are configured in a separate screen and you upload the button images there as well. Then you can assign them to forms (the app pulls a list of forms in your database and you can select the ribbons from the dropdown for each form) and the app will then actually assign the ribbon to each form, sparing you from having to open each form in design view, choosing the ribbon and saving.
  • Allows you to create multiple ribbons, for example, you can create different ribbons for various forms, reports, you can also create Admin and User versions of the ribbons and then have the ability to assign an Admin and a User ribbon to each form. Once you publish the app (publishing creates 2 .accde files, one is Admin, one is User), Admin app will get admin toolbars and User app will get user toolbars
  • For Front End/Back End setups, on opening the app, it checks to make sure that the backend is available and, if it's not, forces them to select the location of the backend. If some tables in the backend are missing - it will let the user know and won't start the app, until the correct backend is selected.
  • Allows you to configure dropdowns (on NotInList, on DoubleClick), easily create the options for both the user being able to see and edit their dropdown list and allowing them to add a new entry if it's not in the list on the fly
  • Allows you to setup Dev access to the app (if you distribute it as an .accdb). We usually remove all default toolbars, navigation pane, opening with SHIFT, and in order to get into the app, the dev has to login in a special way or change a value in a table (if the app doesn't have logins)
  • Provides a login and a user configuration screen which you can use for your apps
  • Provides an image/document storing subform with a preview for .bmp and .jpg.
  • Provides a CONTACTS subform where the user can enter tons of different types of contacts, dial phone numbers, follow links and send emails
  • Provides error logging code which you'd put for every sub. The sub will then write all errors to a table which you can check periodically to see what errored
  • Provides an App Version control screen and a .vbs file (this file, once run, creates a shortcut for the user to this .vbs file but makes it look like it's a shortcut to the app) that uses the underlying table to determine which version of the app the user is using and, if the app is an older version, it will copy the new version from the server. This is all without the user knowing. They double click their icon and the app opens, but in the background, it has checked the version, copied the new version (if theirs was old) and then opened the app.

After payment, you will get the download link within 12 hours (usually much quicker)

Unlimited Dev Use means you can include everything in this app in any apps you build. You cannot resell this tool as is or as part of another tool.
