Your custom MS Access database developer will help you store data in the most logical ways

MS Excel and MS Access were designed for different purposes. MS Access is a relational database, which means that there’s no repeating data on multiple lines. This is a nice and logical way to store data (most large database, like, Oracle, SQL Server, use relational structure) and it results in good performance and clean data.

In Excel, you will usually have data repeating on multiple lines, and while Excel is very useful for many types of reports, the proper Excel usage would be storing your data in a relational database (such as, MS Access, SQL Server, Oracle) and using Excel for reporting only, which means, exporting various pieces of data using custom criteria.

Custom MS Access database software developers that build from years of experience

To sum it up, we can do anything in MS Access.
Below are short descriptions of some of the applications we have built in our 20 years:

List of Services

    • Medical offices

Applications stored patient, billing, and insurance data, it also allowed a patient to sign documents on a tablet and the signature was stored in his record.

There was a scheduling module and a separate form on the tablet which a patient would fill out on their first appointment. The data they entered would instantly be available in the application.

There was also an image/document storing screen where they can attach scanned patients’ test results and other documents.

    • Financial, accounting, insurance & law firms

Applications kept track of clients, services and prices, appointments, created mass mailings.

We also created an automated invoicing module for a large loan provider, it printed 20,000 invoices every month.

    • Logistics management - MS Access QuickBooks Integration

Designed and developed an application with 2-way MS Access QuickBooks integration for an international logistics company.

Accounting data was automatically imported into the application from QuickBooks and customer and order data was exported from the application into QuickBooks.

The application allowed the users to create complex quotes, import customer data automatically from website request emails, track routes, prices, and shipping companies, and pick the best option for each request. And, of course, create reports with various criteria and outputs.

    • Real estate and rental management companies

Applications kept track of all available apartments and houses, allowed renters to submit repair requests, scheduled those requests for the maintenance crew, ran a roster with rent due dates for each property, stored renters’ information.

It also ran a scheduling module for viewings and allowed a manager to reassign viewings from one employee to another.

    • Seamless automated inventory management

Automated inventory management systems we developed kept track of clients, inventory, appointments, sales, created mass mailings and did some CRM. They also allowed for automated price setting and restocking, based on a predefined, complex algorithm custom designed for each business.

They also tracked suppliers, products they offer, and all costs associated with ordering from them, such as shipping costs, minimum order amount, products they carry. If they provided product lists, they were loaded automatically.

We have developed custom inventory management software for many warehouses, each with their own quirks and requirements. We worked with one warehouse which had such a unique way of doing business that no mass market application would even come close to satisfying their requirements.

    • Dog walking, training, boarding & grooming businesses

Applications stored a client listing, all their animals, services needed for each animal, a scheduling module, and it had a dashboard with upcoming tasks. It also stored a price list and did billing and invoicing.

There was a separate module for the training, where they tracked progress by the dog, described the issues they saw and wrote up suggestions for the clients. Pictures and videos were attached to each dog’s record and sent to clients automatically.

    • Construction, roofing, plumbing companies

Applications tored materials, prices, clients, types of work performed, guarantees, ran schedules for each contractor, performed complex calculations.

It also tracked inventory and automatically subtracted items needed for the job from inventory. There was also a notification for each inventory item when it got past a certain number (different for each item).

    • Beauty salons

Applications stored client data, had a scheduling module, and a dashboard with appointments. It also stored supplier information, allowed automated ordering from the suppliers, and did a little CRM in the form of tracking clients’ visits and setting automatic reminders to call those that haven’t visited in a while.

It also stored hair coloring formulas, nail polish colors and a few other things for each client and kept track of each worker’s schedules.

    • Retail stores

Applications kept track of inventory, purchase orders, ran sales reports, prepared accounting reports, kept track of workers’ schedules.

    • Government entities

      Various confidential projects.

    • Non-profits

Developed a reporting dashboard that linked data files from various sources and combined them into various reports which can be ran based on custom, complex criteria.

Developed applications for tracking various services; scheduling and queue applications; budgeting and accounting applications.

    • Various consulting firms

Applications stored client data, appointments, allowed scheduling, kept track of the advertising budget, and analyzed the return on each advertising stream.

    MS Access Automation

We can build automation routines for your current system. Any manual repeating process where you perform a similar set of steps can be automated, either wholly or in part.

    • Imports & exports
    • Converting
    • Formatting
    • Complex calculations
    • Combining multiple files and applying custom criteria
    • Recurring reports
    • MS Access QuickBooks Integration (automatically transferring data to and from QuickBooks based on rules you outline)
    • MS Word merges
    • MS Outlook tasks

Reports that take a few hours or a few days to complete manually, can be automatically created within minutes (or hours, depending on the complexity of the report and the amount of data), without any manual work. You click a button; the report runs and emails itself automatically to the list of people you select. You can even skip the step of clicking the button, the entire process can be scheduled to run on any interval.

Hiring us to develop your automation routines will save you many hours of tedious manual work and will minimize mistakes that are bound to happen with any manual process.

The more manual work you’re currently doing, the greater the time and labor savings will be. We have worked for a company where just on reports alone we saved them 80 hours a week.
